Ok cool, I'm going to get Zaino and make my black truck look good. Which formulas do I need to get? Give me a basic run down of the products. Dang I'm sorry I missed the "group buy".

Ahhhh, also, I'm thinking about getting my truck painted soon. Would the Zaino products be worthwile on a freshly painted truck or would it be too harsh for the new coat?

Many paints have a cure time and a lot of things like bird bombings and tree sap can be musch worse to a brand new coat of paint than an older one of a couple years. New vehicles from factories 9DC for example) actually harden them before they are sent out.

Zaino, well, Zaino is the best, that's probably why you are asking for a run down of the products you need.

What you will need:

Z1 - The Polish loc, what you put on as the bottom base for the coat, you only need one of these, and you wont use it more than 2 a year at most. Most people do it after winter/before winter, least I do.

Z2 - The main polish and shiner, this is the main thing you will be using, I got two from the group buy actually, great stuff. This is a must, as is Z1.

Z5 - This is to get rid of small scratches (hair line) and stuff like fading/swirl marks. I think this is neccessary, but it isn't, I'm just a perfectionist. Since you have a black vehicle, you probably know how well all these great things show up.

Z6 - Not needed, but if you put this between your coats it will make your car close to perfection. It will turn your car from Black to mirror. Not joking either..

Also, Z6 is good to do a quick run down and make it shine again and keep it shinin MUCH longer by just wiping down the entire vehicle with this stuff.

Z7 - THis is the car wash, I like it, but you don't have to use it, but it works REAL well. SOmething from meguires would be a good second choice.

Z10 - This is the "Leather in a bottle" treatment and cond. it also works VERY well on interior rubber and vinyl, for interior use, there is only a couple products from meguires, but otherwise, this is the best.

Z12 is a Glass polish and I've never used it..heh, I use newspaper and #000 steel wool to clean my windows actually...

ZFX, forget waiting overnight or hours for the next layer, this makes the curing process INSTANT! I want to get some of this myself, but it's like 20 dollars. It just came out...

Z18, this is VERY important you get this, specially if you have your vehicle JUST painted, this will remove all kinds of crap and oversrpay from the paint, YOU MUST START WITH THIS IF YOU WANT MIRROR. THe rest will all be in vain if you do not do this. It's pretty expensive, but well worth it. The look will only be as good as it's weakest link..

The polish applicators are ok they give you, but I think they absorb too much of the product and I prefer towels.

Now, some more hints for you..

You will also need something called the ABSORBER..these are found at WalMart for about 7 dollars, nothing else compared to these and they can last forever.

About towels, ONLY use 100% cotton and MADE IN AMERICA, I'm not saying that to be patriotic, I'm saying it because the import stuff is sh!t -- like what you get a napa. You also want to get WHITE ones, the colour ones bleed. Also, cut off the edges and only use the middle soft portion. I prefer to use good ole fieldcrest cannon towels. There is actualy an OUTLET store online that sells them for cheap as hell, I mean, you're cuttin them up anyways right!?

That link is...

I think that's about it for now, if you need any washing tips etc just ask..

I agree with xplikt, good summary. Z18- Your talking about the clay bar, right?

Zaino's the best polish I've ever used. I live in south Jersey, they're right down the road from me.

Wow, thanks for the Zaino product line run down xplikt, never used it or know anyone that has, but I have been considering investing in some for the springtime. Maybe we can get another GB together? I am also a perfectionist when it comes it detailing the inside or outside of vehicles. I have a craftsman Orbital, Snap-on High Speed, Kenmore Shampoo/Extractor machine and slew of gadgets for making detailing quicker and my truck looking better. I usually use Meguiars and 3M products which have served me very well. I was Detailing vehicles, boats, motorcycles, RV's, etc during the spring, summer and fall as a side job with my good friend making great extra $$ for the past 10 years. I am going to school for engineering right now and it is gonna put a damper on that, lucky if I'll have time to detail my Dak and wifes Tiburon. Oh well, there is always 2004 when I graduate:)

Flowmaster stainless cat back, Air Raid CAD and homemade TB connect, Poweraid TB Spacer, Splitfire Plugs
3 inch body and 1.5" block lift, 33x11.50-16's, Superlift Truspeed Recalibrator

http://www.camaroz28.com/messagebd/index.html This is a place where a zanio rep hangs out. There is alot of conversations and information about zanio products. If you are concerned about, or interested in a finish for your dak, this is an interesting place to visit. I think zanio should be the first mod, just my opinion.

All you "need" is the Z1 and Z5 or Z2.

Z5 fills some light swirls and give a real nice deep gloss on dark colors. The Z2 is straight up high gloss polish.

My black cars respond to Z5 the best. So Z1 (polish lock) and then Z5. Thats it. You don't "need" anything else.

BlackDak02, yes I was meanin' the claybar. Meguires has one too, but it is no where was easy to use as the Zaino version.

Fillupd. if you check the users, you'll notice I am one there too. Actually, I was going there before I started going here. I thought about getting a Camaro, but the insurance was a killer! I still go their because they have probably THE BEST Zaino/detailing support on the web! I heard you gain something like 5 HP because of less wind resistance with this mod ;)

There is no, economy, pro, and extreme versions of Zaino. They sell just one type/version for each type of need. There is none of this a bazillion different products like Turtle Wax etc. has. There really isn't a need, everything they have and you could probably use, so decisions are pretty easy.

My name is Mike...and I have a Zaino problem...

BTW, Z2 works better than RainX on the outside windows ;)
