IP: Logged

Message:
My check engine light has come on twice now and when I check the code it comes up with P 0111. I looked at www.obdii.com and the code can not be found. Does anyone know what the problem is or what the code means??? Help

You probably have an IAT adjuster? I get that code all of the time when the temp is below 50 degrees. I think it has to do with the intake air temp sensor. I just reset the computer or cut the IAT off and it will go away on its own sometimes. Hope that helps.

This is the description from obdii.com...
When you put the code in you can't have spaces (ie P0111 not P 0111)

Chrysler/Dodge/Plymouth P0111 Intake air (charge) temperature sensor voltage irrational performance

What does that mean? I don't know. Hope it helps though!!

The computer has some "safetys" that make some assumptions about the sensors. It means that the computer knows that the IAT should not change 20 degrees every several seconds. Suspect the sheilding on the IAT wire has a poor connection.
Electrical noise is getting into the IAT wire and the computer knows it.

Being trained in electronics... I would put a DVM on the IAT and see what it is doing. Perhaps even use my oscilliscope to visually check for electrical noise.
