Subject: Rear diff fluid change question IP: Logged
Message: OK. I'd like to change the fluid in the rear diff of my 02 CC 4X4. It has the 4.7/5-speed combination and the rear differential is the standard (3.55 / non LSD) unit. I looked under the truck and it appears that there is a plastic plug in the top of the pumpkin that has a wire going into it. Is this removable and is this where I can syphon the original fluid out and replace it with Redline 75-90 gear oil?

Message: The plug in the top is rear anti-lock brake sensor. You can remove this but you can't syphon fluid. A ring for your speed sensor brake is alligned ahead sensor. Remove back cover and clean diff.

Message: OK. If I remove the cover to drain & clean the internals, how/where do I add the fluid?

Message: There should be a rubber plug in the diff. cover. You need a small, thin nosed funnel, and you fill it through this hole.
