Subject: '92 dist. problem, thanks for the help

My Dakota has been spitting and cursing during cold weather, but only when it's halfway warmed up. When it's cold it runs fine, once it warms up it runs fine, if it's summer it runs fine. During the winter just as the heater is coming around she throws fits, I've replaced and checked everything I can think of so I did some surfing, found this site, read the archives and back in October someone had the same problem. Turns out the distributor bushing quits bushing and needs to be replaced...now I have a question, why does it only happen in cold weather? Does it "find it's own center" once it warms up? What makes the truck sputter? my guess is the rotor is now moving in an ellipse and hitting the distributor pickups a millesecond early or late and the computer doesn't recognise it. anybody know what part # I need from the dealer? Or do they know it by heart by now.

Thanks for your help, now I know where to go next.
