Subject: overhead computor display

has any one ever try to installed the over head console that has the compass and fuel mileage and temp info that goes where the clip is. i have the over console but where it says clip should be a display screen. is it hard to do

I think this was discussed a little while ago. can't remember the title, but browse through and you should find it.

Last I remember, some people said they were going to try it and post their results, but I haven't seen anything (I am interested in trying it myself).

Also, from what I read, I understand that some vehicles with the clip and not the computer, come from the factory pre-wired for the computer (you would just connect the wiring harnesses). In that case, it would be pretty easy. Others, however, don't come pre-wired, and that seems like it would be pretty tricky.

I installed one in my dakota. it was fairly easy ... i went to a junk yard and cut out the cab wire harness from a truck that had a over-head console. I went from the connector that connects to the console and followd them down to a connector under the dash... renoved the wire and pins from the connector..... wrote down the location that the pin came out of.... them i stuck my head under the dask of my truck... found the connector and pluged them in ... you might have to do a little splicing overhead.....
