Subject: Exhaust sounds? IP: Logged
Message: Dynomax has a cool feature on their website where you can listen to wav files of their different types of mufflers. Anyone know of any sites with Flowmaster, Borla, or others? I've been to DML and listened to what they have there, but most of the sounds there don't really tell what brand/type they're running.
Anyone know how the Flowmaster 40 sounds in comparison to the Dynomax UltraFlow? I'll more than likely be running the OEM system and just replace the muff for now.

Message: I don't recall, I think it was a dual pipe setup.
I also have the 4.7 with the 40 series if you want to hear. Single Pipe

Check out http://blackdakrt.com/mpegs.html for mpeg's of various mufflers on R/T's. There's basically most everything here except for Gibson.

Message: Gibsons dual exhaust is nice. I don't know if any of you have ever worked at a fast food joint before, but 1 in 100 cars, can't be heared over their exhaust. I'm glad that I now belong to that family.

Message: Nobody has a clip or .wav on how gibson's duals sound. I've heard every other exhaust out there on the net, I can't believe that nobody has a sound file.

Message: I saw an audio file on the DML web site of a truck with Gibson 3" cat back setup. Go to dakota-truck.net. At the bottom of the page is a "sounds" link. At the bottom of that page you'll find it.
Sounds kinda "poppy" for my liking. I don't mind a glass-pack crackle, but not into that gurgly popping sound. To each his own though.

Message: I found a site called http://www.exhaustsoundclips.com that has a decent selection of clips for the Dak engine. A bunch of them aren't specifically the Dakota, but they've got the engines on there. I'm specifically interested in the Jeep 5.2 with the Gibson Catback. Can anyone let me know if the Dakota with the comparable engine would sound like this?
Thanks!
