Message: I had a set on my old ford. After a year and a half and about 10,000 miles of city driving they wouldn't bass the bounce test. I went to have my tires balanced and the tire man pointed out the wear on the tire and said the shocks were letting it bounce too much. He did the bounce test on it and sure enough they didn't work. I'd recommend Bilstein or Edlebrock. I heard Monroe makes a good replacement shock (its gotta be better than the stock ones) and they're pretty cheap.
