Message: Which of these two systems would be best for me. I have installed a K&N FIPK filter, Taylor 8mm wires, and I want to replace the exhaust. My truck is a 96 2wd sport, 3.9 automatic. I want the exhaust to be a little louder, but I am not trying to build a race truck, or wake the dead.
What other parts can I install to increase performance, and gas mileage? Again, I am not building a race truck, just a little quicker, and better sounding than stock.

Message: Kim, the things I've done are:
180 Thermostat
Autolite 3923's
ASP underdrive pulleys
Jet stage II, currently out due to problems
K&N FIPK
Glass pack with duals (soon to go for a Dynomax single pipe)
Borg Warner Brass cap + rotor
Accel coil
Autolite 7.5mm wires
Soon to come:
F&B 48mm Throttle Body
Flex-a-lite electric fan
JBA Headers
And 3.90:1 rear end gears
With my current set-up, Ive been able to get a 15.8 in the 1/4 mile and 160-180 rear wheel hp all with my G-tech performance meter. Of course my 94 is a Regular cab and a short bed so I weigh only about 3000-3400 pounds.
Hope I gave you a few ideas, all mods (except the glasspack) improved MPG.

Pretty close there Kris. Mathematically, those times with that weight is 150-170HP at the rear wheels. Hehehehe...you as fast as me...but the difference is that your about 1000lbs lighter. ;)
(And they wonder why the Gen-II's are quicker.)

I was just thinking...wonder what a Powerdyne would do on that V6 of yours Kris. That should put you into the low 15's...if not 14's. (That'll piss off a few V8's for sure.) ;)

Message: Don't give me any ideas Bernd, I'm a High School kid living on a part-time budget. I can't exactly afford $2,500 on a supercharger, my brother does have a turbo laying around for his 99 Honda Prelude. He keeps hinting to put it to good use!
However my real dream is to build it be just like the truck at:

Message: Kris, what Accel coil did you install? is it just plug and play, or would I have to fabricate some sort of bracket? Will it plug into the exsisting wiring?

Message: Kim,
I got Accel coil# 140021, it just bolts on to where the existing coil was. Looks just like the original except it's yellow and a little bit bigger than the factory coil. Chuck Robbins has pictures of it in www.intense99dak.com. It will also work better with the Borg Warner Distributor cap and rotor (C273 and D223). The coil I got from a Checker auto parts store the cap+ rotor from carparts.com. Oh yeah, did you check for those exhaust systems on truckperformance.com, they have the best prices.
P.S. The coil worked for my wiring but, check Chucks website to see if yours does. I remember his did need a wiring harness.

Message: Would anyone know the exact weight of my truck both with a full tank and an empty tank of gas?
It's a 94 short bed regular cab SLT with the 22 gallon gas tank. Of course the V6 and the auto.
Anyone know how much power the A500 can take??
From what I've heard, not much!

Message: Kris, I can't tell you what my truck does 0-60.
Here's why, I bought the truck back in August, it is very clean with 52,000 miles on it. I had it about two weeks and started to hear a noise under the hood. Turns out it needed the revised timing chain idler. The dealer installed it, and when I got my truck back the engine had a rod knocking, lifters ticking, and pinged like crazy. I fought with the dealer for a month while they told me that the 3.9 lifter noise is normal. I kept saying it didn't have any noise when I bought it, and I won't take it back until it is gone.
Anyway, against my better judgement, they found a used motor with 32,000 miles on it and dropped it in. It had lifter noise, and two Dodge dealers told me it was not normal. To make a long story short, after calls to Indiana's Attorney General's Office, calls to the dealer's main office, and threatining to call an attorney, they saw it my way.
My new motor is being installed as I am typing this. After a careful break in I will find out my 0-60 times.

Message: Yeah, mine has the timing chain knock also. I don't ever have the time to fix it so I have to cough up $400 to get it fixed. Those Autolite 3923's and the 180 degree thermostat should get rid of the pinging. So far my truck only has 42,000 miles on it. 32,000 when I bought it a year ago. I used to have a 94 Sport, I loved it and lost it to a drunk driver. Almost killed me.
