Subject: RE: 3.9L engine stalling IP: Logged
Message: To all of the Dodge Dakota owners that
have been having stalling problems, I
took my pcm out, sprayed it with contact
cleaner, loosened the two torques head
bolt under the harness connection on
the pcm a quarter of a turn. I bought
Dielectric grease. Put it on the pins in the
pcm. Sprayed the harnesses with contact
cleaner.reinstated the pcm &
harnesses.test drove my truck. And NO
more stalling problems.I drove it all day
& It has not stalled once. I had heard
from different people that the two bolts
on the pcm & the lack of grease in the
harness connections could be at fault.
THANK U BOB.

Message: When U open the hood & your looking at
the engine, look to the left. There will be
a box with three wire harnesses going to
it. Disconnect the positive cable going to
the battery. It is attached to the firewall
with three bolts. It is next to your air
cleaner housing. Take the three
harnesses out carefully. Unscrew the
three okbolts. Take the pcm out. Spray
the contacts with electric contact
cleaner. Get a tube of dielectric grease.
Put it on both the pcm & the harnesses.
Look in the back of the pcm. There will
be two torques head screws. Loosen
them both a quarter of a turn. And put
the pcm back in. And the three
harnesses.

Message: Hey all U Dakota mechanics. I replaced my cv in my truck
yesterday. It was not hard !.My caliber bolt was stripped. But
Napa sells a bolt that retreads as it goes in. So NO need To
buy a new steering knuckle. It costs $ 18.95. But it is alot
cheaper then buying a knuckle.
LIFE !
