I don't know W PA too well, a co worker lives in Beaver Falls and he brought stuff from ORams in once and I went nuts over their raised yeast glazeed.
I grew up in Indiana and have lived here for 3 years now (Job transfer).
Still cannot find some things near and dear to my heart (but have found other grub to be outstanding) here are some questions for you.
1. Cornbread, ya'll just don't understand the concept here. Gotta use LARD and bacon grease for best results.
2. Cracklins to put in the cornbread. Makes it mighty fine eating with beans, stews or just bout anything.
3. LARD, not CRISCO, but LARD. THere is a difference. Lard makes the best fried chicken and pastry. Crisco is P&G's idea of a bad joke.
4. Whats up with this "occupational privilege tax"? Since when is it a privilege to hold a job?
5. Why the state store to buy booze? Prices are MUCh cheaper in Indiana due to competition and private ownership
6. best bar food in the world, in my opinion, can be found in PA! Good cold beer, and I love the eastern european influence on the cuisine here. Polska kielbasa kicks a$$!
7. Ditto on Italian. Gosh you guys are lucky.
8. WHere can I see a steel mill? One that actually has workers in it?
9. Inspection on cars/trucks is a pain in the a$$.
10 Glad to see PA understands CONCRETE on hiway construction. In indiana, is the gospel that you use sh*tty asphalt that lasts no longer than 6-8 months. This way, your company gets to come back the following summer and do it all over again. Call it job security.
11. Does anyone in this state know what basketball is? ANd who dreamed up Iron City beer? SOme pyscho? YUK!
12. No tax on clothing, good call PA! Hey indiana, are you listening on this?
13. Pierogies, love em. did not know what they were till I moved here.
14 Glad to see a large catholic population in W pA.
15. Kudos to being able to hunt deer with a rifle!
In Indiana, its slugs, bow, muzzleload, pistol.
16. Red Brick Inn in Sheffield should be a shrine. Best wings in the world can be found there after a hard days hunt!
17. some for quaker steak and lube.
18. My water actually tastes good here, not hard and "mineral" like my folks well water back home.

hey guys i contacted the president of the pa chapter from dakota usa i'm going to see if he either knows of a meet or can give me a hand setting one up. by the way dakota i like your pic of your truck. also how far into Pa would you guys be willing to travel so i can have some ideas as to where i could maybe set this thing up if there isnt one already?

well guys i'm glad to hear from all of you. the pres of the chapter for pa got in touch with me and he said there are know meets as of yet. and said he would either help with it or he would do it. so if any one else is interested it looks like we could probably make this thing happen depending on how hard it is to get everything situated if you know what i'm saying. it will take some time to get things figured out so just bare with me on this. The only thing i ask is if you could all let me have your email addresses so that i can keep in touch with all of you.there are times when i dont get on this site very much do to work and family and all that.im sure you guys know how that is.and right now work is slow for me so i'm just trying to get caught up with the stuff on these great sites. so thanks again and hope to keep hearing from you guys. gotta go get some grub. later all

I'll come to the meet if my Dakota is out of the shop -- if not, I'll attent with my rental Caravan -- I mean, I could write Dakota on that somewhere. And I don't know if it counts, but I have a watch made by the Dakota watch company that I'd be more than happy to wear.
In the past 6 months that I've had my Dakota, it's been unusable to me for 8 days. Isn't it 30 days in a year in PA for it to be considered a lemon?

I am from Syracuse, NY and would like to come down if the meet was fairly close to NY border. It's about 5/hrs one way I think to Lehigh Valley which is about as far as I would want to haul without taking Friday off from work:) I'll watch this thread for the final destination and see if I can go, it would be a fun overnight!
