Subject: Should I put 3.90's in?

Message:
I currently have 3.50:1 in my rear end and I'm thinking of going to 3.90:1 with limited slip. Any suggestions? Does anyone have these gears with the V6?

Yes, I ran them before switching to the 4.10's (32" tires needed them). I had, originally, 3.55 gears in the rear and switched them to 3.90's due to larger tires (30"). You won't be disappointed with the performance! :)

Do you know how many RPM's I'll be running at 65-75MPH's in overdrive?? Did you lose any MPG's?

I didn't notice any loss in MPG...with the exception of the "Fun Factor" for the first few weeks. (Had my foot in it a little bit harder...the acceleration is well worth the gear swap.)

As for the RPM's on the road, that would depend on the actual tire size. I've got a spreadsheet on my website that will help you out on this. (There's no way to know exactly what your RPM's will be since the tire size has a lot to do with it. I could give you my RPM's but they won't be the same as yours since I was running 30" tires at that time...and now 32" w/4.10's.)

That's the URL to the Excel Spreadsheet

Motive Gear. Check with your local driveline shop...it shouldn't cost you more than $500 for the gears and install labor.
