Message: Ok, if you could trade you truck in for a new one, what would you do different, what would you keep the same? 2wd, or 4wd? 5.9l 4.7l? you get the idea. I'm looking at getting a 2wd slt+ with the 4.7l engine, just wondering if i'm making the right decision before i place the order. I'll be moving up to Washinton state, and living there for the next 4 to 8 years. Any advice would be appreciated

Message: I've got a '00 2wd 4.7L 5spd CC SLT LSD w/3.92's. I love it. It pulls a 20ft aqua sport no prob. I bought the CC just for the extra space and because i'm 6'2. The RC would have been cool just because it weighs something like 400lbs less than the CC. My truck is awesome though. But I think my next one might be an RC. Especially if the 5.7 hemi makes it into the DaK and if it has an optional 5spd.

Message: Overhead computer/console. I didn't think the Gen IIs had this option but I saw one a couple of months ago that did.
If I could afford a Gen III Dak, I would probablly choose the 4.7 over the 5.2, mainly because the 5.2 has a weak intake manifold plenum pan gasket. Other than that, the 5.2 is a really good engine.

Message: Well yes it does help if we know what you like to do.
4WD - holds value better, has better traction in poor weather, only costs a couple of mpg
2WD - better mpg, quicker accelleration, uh thats it
RC - looks best, best accel.
CC - acceptable room, still good looking, best head and shoulder room of all
QC - best if family or lots of friends, slowest accel.
4.7 - Good perf. w/5sp, modest perf. w/auto (almost not enough to tow with in a QC in a hilly area IMO), newer technology, fair mpg.
5.9 - best all around perf. IMO, can't get 5sp, lots of perf. upgrades, proven track record, fair mpg.
Hope that helped.
Had a 99 5.2 4X4 RC and out of 30K miles 27K ended up being trips. (Was sportier than her 2000 concorde). 4X4 came in handy on the ski trips.
Traded for a 01 5.9 QC, still sport but not as much as the RC. (I almost feel like a soccer mom, which is why I wouldn't get a Durango :O )

Message: Hey Headhunter, I live in Washington State, what city you going to be in? I am in Everett North of Seattle. I have a 2000 Dak cc automatic, with 3;55 posi and i like the performance, I just purchased a 2002 Quad cab 4x4 with 3;92 posi, automatic and i cant tell the difference, tach is still the same at 60 mph. reads 2,000 RPM. on both trucks. I have the 4.7 in both.
