Hello kids I have a 4.7l with 9K on the clock. when I give er gas sounds like lifter/valve noise sort of dieseling effect but does not diesel on at shut off. what the hell is this...I drive this beast hard...I have a gibson single cat back and a volant intake. she hauls butt now the noise has me crazy......it does this with stock intake as well. I was running autolite 3923's but now back to stock plugs.....dont remeber if the noise was there with autolites ...please help me out is thios motor junk already?

Hey carib, did it always make that noise. I was told by a dodge mechanic that they had problems with the dipstick being too long and hitting on the 4.7's. I just had my heat sheild adjusted on my 3.9 because it was hitting the dipstick. it also sounded like valve problems.
