Subject: Engine - Rattling/Lifter Type Noise IP: Logged
Message: I think I have this problem. I encluded a copy of the first part of the page. I was browsing SpeedTweaks and noticed it, I don't know why I didn't see it the first 30 times I looked at the page. Can anyone help and describe this noise further to help me figure out if I have it or not. I think this is it tho. and how much the stealership would charge on fixing this for me because I'd rather not mess with this.
Thanks
Roby

Message: I came across this post about the rattling/lifter type noise.
The poster asked if anyone could describe this noise further to help him figure out if this was what is wrong with his truck.
I am also trying to figure out if I have this problem with my 99 V6 Dak.
Sometimes when I start my truck it sounds like I have a lose belt. But if I rev up the engine I do not get that loud squealing noise associated with a lose belt. It is only noticeable at idle.
It happens whether the engine is cold or hot. Winter and summer. But does not happen all the time.
If anybody could provide further assistance to me it would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
