Subject: Cold air intake and snow

Message:
Here's one for all cold-air intakes in winter/heavy snow conditions. I have seen times when the engine compartment can actually get a lot of snow and ice in it (even while driving), up here in east central Wisconsin. Anyone ever have a K&N cone filter air intake (home brew or brand name) "ice up" or "snow pack" on them to the point it could air starve the engine? I have thought about fabricating a shield around the filter to avoid this. Any comments?
