So, is that pretty easy then to do a brake stand in a 5-speed? I always try, but I stop when I start to pass out from the clutch smell.

Yes, Very nice Truck indeed, Be proud,.. you bought a nice truck, and you earned the cash to pay for it. I have two Daks myself a 2K CC 4X2 RT, and the new 2002 QUAD CAB 4X4 4.7 auto. loded up.Patriot blue the RT is white. I envy the Daks alot, funn and nice looking trucks.Just hope Dodge doesnt do to much in a redesign for an upcoming year. they could make a big mistake if they do. But I like your truck,..

is it easy to do a brake stand with a 5-speed? no
if your smelling clutch your problem is your probably slipping the clutch too much, or your clutch is worn.
The way I do it, left foot on clutch, right foot heel on brake, push brake hard, then use the upper right foot to push in gas while taking out clutch. I used second gear most of the time, gets them going faster.
The truck actually hooks better than I thought it would. And this 4.7 really moves.
