I'm not a mechanic, but this is how I understand it.
The stroke of an enigine is the amount of travel
the piston has in the cylinder. When you stroke
an engine you usually increase the amount of
travel. There are different ways to accomplish
this by changing the crankshaft,rods and/or
the pistons. The combination can be different
based on manufacturer/engine.
For example, the magnum 360's are usually stroked
to 408 cubic inches. This is done by changing to
a stroker crankshaft, and stroker pistons, while
retaining the stock length rods.
