I guess I have a lucky VIN (LOL!!)
----------------------
Just received this RECALL in the mail today. Not sure what VIN’s are affected in the 1999 Model Year, however, I am one of the lucky ones. In essence:
“DaimlerChrysler Corporation has determined that some 1999 model year Chrysler Concorde, LHS, 300M and Town & Country; Plymouth Voyager and Grand Voyager; Dodge Intrepid, Caravan, Grand Caravan, DAKOTA, DURANGO and Ram Van/Wagon and Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles do not comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 209 – Seat Belt Assemblies.
The problem is…
One or both of the front seat belt retractor assemblies on your vehicle may not comply with the requirements of FMVSS No. 209. An improperly manufactured internal lever may not lock the seat belt retractor. This could allow increased risk of injury to a front seat occupant in certain accident conditions.
Thought you’d all like to know – Jim

Yeah, I got the same one for my 99 RC that I traded back in May. DC is a little slow on updating records or the new owner did not fill out the "new owner" card in glovebox I left.

Flowmaster stainless cat back, Air Raid CAD and homemade TB connect, Splitfire Plugs, 33x11.50-16's

Oh please. I got that piece of paper in the mail MONTHS ago. I took it in and they torqued down the bolt for the seat belts. Its not a recall problem. Its just the bolts were not torqued down tight enough.

Well, I guess your mail service is better than mine Mikel, as I just received it on 12/31. There's something about a document blaring the word "recall" that makes it important to me. If all they have to do is tighten a bolt here and there - well, they can just knock themselves out. -- Jim

Sorry. I didn't mean to come off arrogant or mean. Just wasn't having a good day apparantly. It didn't seem all that cruel sounding the first time I read it. Heh.

But seriously. I got a piece of paper in the mail about it, and it had the words RECALL emblazened over it. Although it didn't need to be their.

I just went outside and pulled away the interior to get to the belt system at the bottom of the cab. Tightened the bolts best I could and took it to the dealer the next day and gave them the recall paper I recieved and told them what I had done.
