Subject: 2000 vs 2001 wiring?? IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone know if the wiring is the same in the 2000 as the 2001? I have a 2001 and am looking at 2000 wiring diagrams and things are not matching up. I'm no expert at wiring but it seems that these trucks are wired differently. Any thoughts?
Thanks!!

Message: I am trying to wire an overhead console with the computer. I can wire 7 of the 9 wires needed but I am having trouble connecting into the CCD bus. In fact the connector C246 (I think) is shown connected to connector c200 on the 2000 wiring diagrams but I dont see the connector at all. c247 is also supposed to be connected to connecter c200 as well (I think I have that one) Also, the wire colors for the data link connector are not the same as the colors in the 2000 diagram.
Thanks.

Message: I have a 2001 and when I took the dash apart I remember that the pin connector from the overhead console ran into the diagnostic port,I have a 2001 manual at my garage I will take a look for you,but are you sure that the pcm will work with the console if it was not installed by the factory?

Message: Also if i remember correctly there is like 3 or 4 different modules of overhead consoles, like the base model is just lights, then a midline ,a premium and a highline has it all even 3 garage door openers which is the one that I got,you gota figure that each option would need a wire to the different sensor, like I would figure the garage opener would probably got to somepart of the keyless remote transmitter and use it to transmit the signal, good luck on it I will see if I can find anyhting on it

Message: I am not positive if the PCM will work with it but I read that the CTM was actually the part that was required for proper operation. I understood that if you had the base CTM that it would not work. I have the other CTM with the remote entry, power door locks, etc...
When you say "diagnostic port" are you refering to the data link connector?
Any help would be greatly appreicated!!
