 Subject: The Clip.

I've noticed a couple of posts about overhead consoles. It seems like there are only two options to get the better one's- ebay or opening the wallet very wide. Well, I'm thinking of making lemonade with my lemons. So, here's the question- Has anyone figured out how to make this silly thing functional? What were the engineers thinking? If someone has given this some thought, let me know. I'm just not that innovative.

What you mean make it functional?If your truck didnt come with it installed I doubt you have the sensors and wiring for it and Im sure the ecm has to be monitoring it aswell

My functional question was- What the heck is it good for. I sure wouldn't put a map up there. Also, it doesn't make much sense to hang sun glasses from. My only thought would be to use it to keep parking ramp tickets. I bet that there is some silly engineer just laughing his head off knowing that he got that idea through R&D. So, in short what's it good for?

I couldn't agree more... They must have been high on exaust fumes when they came up with that one. I am looking into replacing my "clip" with the trip computer. If I can't do that, I will look into putting a flip-down tv up there. I saw someone else on here that did that, plus they only cost aprox. $150 on ebay for a 5.6" screen. Can't watch it while you are driving though :(
