Hey guys, I was wondering what your thoughts were on this.
I am probably gonna get a new quadcab soon. I wont be hauling much except 2 dirtbikes and maybe once or twice a year, my Harley. Do you think it is better to haul with a small trailer or put them in the back(the bed of the truck)?
I havent got a trailer yet but I just thought about it. What would be better gas mileage. To haul a light trailer with a bike or two or just haul them in the bed. Thanks for any input from opinion to experience.

PS- I know that I will have to have the tail gate open no matter what bike or bikes I haul. And they could be long trips down to Pismo or middle Cali. thanks again.

this is just my opinion, but I don't think a Harley will fit well in the bed of a Qcab (will it?) unless you get a bed extender, ya know ya drop down the tail gate and (I don't know how they fasten to the bed) and I think they add like two feet. I can't imagine gas mileage being any better pulling a trailer as opposed to keeping them in the bed.

A low slung trailer is the way to go, easier loading and unloading, and you don't mess up the bed of your truck.

Yeah, I have put bikes in short beds before. I know the Harley will fit at an angle and I can figure out a way to fasten it. I just didnt know if a heavier truck would be better and easier than a truck with a trailer. I guess I'll just wait and see how I like puting the bike or bikes in the bed and then try a trialer. thanks for your input.
