Okay... Let's start off with HOW TO...

Doors.

-there are about 2 nuts that hold the bottom piece on.
-one nut near the side mirrors.
-two TORX bit heads, one easily visible by the door handle and the other is
BEHIND the door handle. Open the handle, look into the space behind it and
you'll see a well hidden screw.

with those screws removed. give it a nice tug upwards holding the door
handle. Disconnect ur door handle bracket. Reach behind the plastic clip
for the power windows (if you have it) and push the clip on the bottom and
top. That should let you turn the whole piece sideways and push back
through the hole. Remember to disconnect other electrical components like
maybe power windows. etc.

***AH, one more thing you'll need. speaker ADAPTORS. the factory speakers
have a plastic trim ring around the back of it to space the speaker out.
ADAPTORS From 6.5S to 6.5 SPEAKERS can be bought at C.C. to space the
speaker out and have the correct mounting holes for it. If you want to save
$, skip it, have a drill handy, mark and drill some new holes for the
speaker. Also watch the magnet depth for it can hit ur window if you roll
it down too far without the spacer.

the dash ****
Simple. Grab from the top, PULL. there are clips around that hold it in.
watch out for electrical wiring, maybe a foglight switch or something hooked
up. after that's out, 2-10mm bolts and the cd/cass slides right out

the rear speakers are a pain. (do you have a CC? if so, e-mail me and I'll
give you pointers on what to do)

Hope that helps. To answer ur question on the stock speaker wire. Leave
it. It's fine. Not worth replacing...

This is my first stereo install ever and could use any information you can
give me, especially 97-00 dak specific.

Hi,
I have a 03 Dodge Dakota CC and I want to change out my entire stock stereo system. I decided to go with Diamond Audio 6 1/2 componants in the front (D 661A D6)they have quality sound that is awesome), a 8 inch JL sub (8W3v2)in a stealth box made for the Dak CC (heard they are a small sub but do produce good low bass for the smaller cab and outperforms the MTX box), and going with the JL 250/1 mono amp to push the sub.
I am undecided about the amp to push the speakers (front/rear) for clear clean sound and I would like to go with a dual coaxile speaker that I can use for the rear as a filler. I would want to keep the stock size (5.25 I think) and need to know what the depth on the 03 Dak CC is that I can use for the speaker. I dont want to have the speaker's magnet touch the metal of the rear quarter panel. Can someone please give me their ideas for a amp to use and the speaker diameter and the depth for the rear speaker that will fit with no modifications. Thank you-----Chuck
