Subject: Mounting My Amp IP: Logged
Message: I want to mount my amp on the wall behind my seat. I want to know how i can mount it without having a ground loop by the amp housing coming in contact with the cab wall. Previously i had it mounted horizontaly on a piece of plywood screwed to the wall. (thats when i had 6x9s in seperate boxes) Now i got me some 10s and i have to horizontaly mount the amp so the boxes will fit. The plywood board wont fit in between the boxes (too wide) so i was goin to mount the amp by itself to the wall. It fits perfectly with about 1/4" in. on each side between the boxes (sat it in just just see how much room i had). So i was thinking of getting some rubber skid liner, like you put in toolboxes, and velcroing it to the back of the amp. then putting a couple of strips of electrical tape on top and underneath the mounting holes so the bare screws wont contact the amp, ground looping it. So any suggestions? Also, my sub boxes are angled, so how could i make an amp rack so the top of my amp is flush mounted with the top of my sub boxes with the same angle?? Box dims. are (WxHxD1xD2) 18x16x8x3 (all inches) Could y'all help me here too?

Message: I mounted my amp underneath the passenger seat. I did that for stealth so that no one would see it and if my truck happened to get broken into, then it would be impossible to take out...
