Message: Hey! I have a 92 Dak and have had some problems in the last two winters with what seems to me to be a wierd problem. After really cold nights my left rear tire and wheel will lock up. As long as there is not too much snow on the ground it's ok, it will just break it loose with quite a bit of throttle. But if there's snow on the ground it will just drag, even with the truck in N, but at least last year, it would roll backward, just not forward. If anyone knows whats going on please tell me.

Message: Seems to be brakes, but how and why only in cold weather? Maybe someone else can answer that or offer other suggestions. I doubt that it is wheel bearings or axle unless you have heard some noises back there. Yeah, gotta be brakes. Anyone else?

Message: could you be getting moisture in there? pull the wheel, drum, etc. and check it out carefully. check the slave cylinder to make sure it isn't hanging up. do you use your park brake? I wonder if on of the shoes has gotten contaminated with some kind of moisture.

Message: I've seen this before and it has been a siticking parking brake cable. Lube or replace the cable. (The cable is a little tricky to get lubed and is usally a temperary fix.)
