I HAVE A 02' QC 4X4 4.7L AUTO..

AT APPROX. BETWEEN 47-57MPH I HEAR A PRONOUNCED WHINING NOISE FROM MY REAR END AREA.WHEN I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR IT DISAPPEARS UNITL I PUT THE LOAD BACK ON. IF ANYONE HAS THIS SYMPTOM OR KNOWS WHAT IT MAY BE I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK.

I would check the fluid in the rear end right away. It could also be because the trany is so much quiter in your new truck then older dakotas.

2001 dakota rt 5.9 rear end noise.I removed the
cover and discovered metal fileings, gears look
good. on the side where the cluch plates are there
is a set of small teath that are shiney and look to
be grinding on somthing. as soon as i start to drive
the noise starts and gets louder the faster i go
are these teath part of the abs?
