Subject: REAR END NOISE... IP: Logged
Message: I HAVE A 02' QC 4X4 4.7L AUTO..
AT APPROX. BETWEEN 47-57MPH I HEAR A PRONOUNCED WHINING NOISE FROM MY REAR END AREA.WHEN I LET UP ON THE ACCELERATOR IT DISAPPEARS UNITL I PUT THE LOAD BACK ON. IF ANYONE HAS THIS SYMPTOM OR KNOWS WHAT IT MAY BE I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE ANY FEEDBACK.

Message: I would check the fluid in the rear end right away. It could also be because the trany is so much quiter in your new truck then older dakotas.

Message: 2001 dakota rt 5.9 rear end noise.I removed the
cover and discovered metal fileings, gears look
good. on the side where the cluch plates are there
is a set of small teath that are shiney and look to
be grinding on somthing. as soon as i start to drive
the noise starts and gets louder the faster i go
are these teath part of the abs?
