Subject: No tie down loops?
IP: Logged

Message:
I just picked up my new truck on Wednesday and just noticed there are no tie down loops in the front of the bed, there are two in the back of the bed. I have a bed liner so they may be covered by the liner. Are there tie down loops under the liner? If there are no loops I think this is a major oversight for safely securing loads in the truck.

The tie-down points in the front of my truck bed are below bed level. There are two rubber covers to pull out when you need the tiedowns. It sounds like your liner is covering the points. If it is a drop in liner, you can cut out over the tie-downs. If it is a spray in liner, Take it to a spray in liner shop and have them uncover the tie-downs and respray them so you can use them. Mine is a spray in liner and all tie-downs are useable complete with the covers for the front ones. Or, you can install new ones on the sides of the box near the front. I would not choose this option, though.

If you got a factory bedliner, your front tiedowns are under *2* covers.

The first cover you have to take off is the big round Ram-head, it's about 4" in diameter and should have a raised lip to help you pull it off.

Cover #2 should now be visible, a small rounded-rectangle plug about 1" by 2". Pull that sucker out and there's your front tie down.

Whoops, forgot to add that you have to repeat for the other side. But you probably figured that out already...LOL.
