Subject: Removing Rear Window IP: Logged
Message: Hey
I came across a sliding rear window and was looking to upgrade from the solid one that i have now. It is in a junk yard and it will be cheaper if i remove it myself can anyone tell me how to remove it. I will have it installed professionally to avoid leaks. It is in a gen3 CC
Any help greatly appreciated.

Message: Alot of times you can just cut the weatherstrip around the glass, and push the glass through. It may be a little tough, depending on how much glue/ adhesive is on the glass. Just don't pry on it with anything metal, etc. It will break for sure!!

Message: But i saw in previous post that the entire rear interior panels of the truck need to be removed to remove the window. Can any one elaborate on this.
Thanks for the reply.

Message: If you will turn your atention to the Febuary 2002 (well that is what th covers says the year and date are) edition of "Truckin'" page 191. There is an artical about removing your rear window. Please keep in mind that the article ia about a cheby not a Dodge, but it shouldn't be that much different, should it? anyway good luck

Message: You need to use a razor knife to cut the polyglue holding the window in from the inside. Get a good sharp blade on there, and make a longer handle to give you leverage. then cut it. you shoud be able to push the window out. have a buddy help hold th window so you odnt drop it

Message: no you have to replace the whole back window the
rear slider is all one piece from the factory. its
all made together there is no way to take it apart.
