Subject: Spring ?'s IP: Logged
Message: just a couple of quick questions:
first, how do i tell what springs my dak has now? i don't have the factory window sticker(bought used), and was wondering because i work for u-haul, which requires taht i do a lot of towing, especially in the summer, with a lot of the trailers weighing between 1500-2000 lbs.
Finally- what is the easiest upgrade for my current springs? overloads, or new spring packs altogether? i have seen a lot of overloads where the rear end is jacked way up in teh air, and that's not the look i want on the truck, if possible i want the extra payload without looking totally ridiculous....
thanks in advance

Message: Dakotas are rated to tow trailers up to 2,000 lbs without any mods. just a ball inserted into the bumper. 200 lb tongue weight. If you have a trailer package then you can tow more weight. look under your hood and see if you have a transmission cooler. there should be a sticker in your glove box that lists options that you have.
Also, what type of dak do you have? engine, rear end 4x4 4x2?

Message: The all V8 daks can tow above 5,000lbs ,ex the R/T that is at 2,500 I think . You can have a spring shop replace the springs or add a leaf.
