I just picked up my 02 cc 4.7 5 speed yesterday and at 60 miles the airbag light came on for 2 or 3 minutes then went off.I called the dealer and they said don't worry about unless it happens again. Has anyone else had this problem? I like the truck so far except the backend tends to step out when I hit a bump or a expansion joint on a bridge, expecially when excellerating. I have the tire and handling package. Is this a characteristic of the stiffer suspension and bigger tires of the package or do trucks with the standard 15 inch wheels an standard suspension also do this also.

2002 club cab 4x4 bright silver 4.7 5 speed handling and tire package.

I had a similar problem with the backend jumping out when I hit a pothole or expansion joint.

I reduced the air pressure in my tires and it calmed the back end down quite a bit.

I THINK: They were at 50 PSI and I set them to ~35

Hey Gary welcome to the club and congrats on your purchase, what do you think of that 4.7L, I picked mine up a week ago yesterday had it specially built the way I wanted it. so far I haven't had the airbag light problem. Regards to the rear end stepping out, that's a normal Characteristic of a truck, this is my second one and drove in many they just do that since there's no weight in the back, just ease off the gas a little before the bump (if you can) got any pics? here's mine

I will adjusting the air pressure and see what happens, thanks for the idea. I had a 99 nissan frontier king cab 4x4 with v6 before and it was not nearly as bad as this dodge is.You had to be driving pretty aggressive to make it wheel hop.
I like the 4.7,I think it is a better choose then the 3.9 v6. More up to date, same mileage, much more power. I really wanted the new 3.7, but won't be available till late 02 early o3.

offroadruss,

Thanks for the air pressure idea, I lowered the air pressure in the rear tires to 35 psi, they were at 40 psi from the dealer. It made a big difference, does not jump out nearly as much.
