 Subject: Exhaust Leak 2.5l

I have a 98 cc 2.5l, and usually in the morning or whenever I start the truck up from cold, it sounds like there is a leak around the exhaust manifold. I was wondering if anyone has heard of this, experienced or read about it before? Any feedback on this would help.

Well, I'm not totally sure what it is but have you checked the airbox pre-heater hose. There is a hose that runs from the manifold shield to the airbox, check it and see if it's on there all the way. That's all I can think of right now...good luck!

i had the same problem with the stock exaust so i cut it off at the cat and it was solved and i just bought a new muffler

Hey gents, I just figured out my problem this weekend. Turns out that the forward bolt to the exhaust manifold was loose. I tightened it up, and no more leak! Go figure. How this bolt got loose I dont know.
