Message: I've seen a 97-00 "Full Size Truck" Chilton's, which covers Dakotas. Since nothing big changed from 00 to 01 other than the 4x4 shifter coming off the floor (and cosmetic changes), you might as well call it 97-01. Besides, Chilton's tends to be rather broad on what they cover (6 or 7 engines in that book...in other words, not much depth on any of them!), so the only thing they'd probably change to include the 01 model would be the text on the cover.

Message: Hey, good news. Haynes makes a manual for 1997-2000 Dakotas. Haynes bought chiltons earlier this year, so they are the same company now. I'm not sure of the part # of the manual, but any Murrays, Autozone, NAPA, Western, or Advance should be able to help you out.

Message: There is a guy on ebay I have bought from several times who sells manuals for around 7-9 shipped new, but I've always preffered shop manuals -- they are 100 times more useful.
