No when you shut the door it has a time delay I think about 15 seconds, or it will shut off as soon as the engine is started.

Hey Marc,

If you get that light to work, let us know what you did, cause I'd like to have mine work as well. I had a rental Ram that the light worked in, if I remember right, it went on and off with the dome light, with the same sort of delay when you closed the door.

on my 99 I had lights in the following areas: under the hood, the glove box, the ignition, the floor area under the glove box, 2lights in the overhead console and a dome light in the back. (i had a club cab) yes there is a time delay. on my 02 club cab with the same trim package, the lights that I have are two lights in the console, a dome light, and a glovebox light. What's cool now is the interior lights fade out instead of shutting off. If you turn off your ignition with your headlights still on, they will be time delayed to turn off.

I took apart my steering wheel column yesterday and there IS a light in the ignition, and the bulb is there and is good. However, there is no power or ground wires leading up to the harness. What i am thinking of doing is routing 2wires from my panel lights to the ignition so it will illuminate with the panel lights as well! Hoping to do this this weekend. I'll keep you informed if u want!

Definitely let us know. I've been annoyed with that thing since I got my truck.
