Message:
I know Hotchkis leaf springs come with four
.25" blocks per leaf for ride height adjustment.

I talked to a rep at Hotchkis today and he told
me the rear drop for a Quad Cab was 3" WITH
the spacers/blocks. I'm not doubting the rep, I
just want to verify.

He also told me the 1913F front coils wouldn't
drop the front of my truck more than2". Is this
correct?

FWIW My truck is an '02 QC sportplus 4.7 5
speed

Thanks, Lemmers

I got exactly 2" in the front.

In the rear I got between 3-1/4-3-1/2" drop. (the two side didn't match from the factory, now they do. I have 2 plates under each side.

For me:

Front - 2" exactly.
Rear - 1 3/4" with no plates.

I have the same issue.... factory height is off 1/2", so it's gonna be 2 plates left, 4 plates right.

Lemmers, you asked earlier for pics, so until I post on the net... send me your e-mail address (mine's in my profile), and I'll slide ya the before/afters.

Have to say that 2"... 3"... whatever the height, the ride is a BLAST. Factory sway bars and ProComp ES 9000 shocks, oh boy, I LOVE these springs!

Broeheem,

My truck was off because of the factory leaf springs. I thought I would correct by having a different number of plates on each side. When I put the Hotchkis on it leveled out. I put in the plates that I thought looked best. But I ended up with the same number of plates.

It might take 1 or 2 iterations to get it level and looking the way you want it, but don't assume 2 and 4 until its on the ground.

I forgot to mention also that adding the lid probably added to the drop in the rear. Maybe 1/2"??

I had a different question. Can I tow a 4,000 lb trailer with the Hotchkis springs or will the bumper be dragging the ground?
Thanks

I looked under mine today and noticed that there are 2 small plates on top of leaf and 2 on the bottom side. I think the guy who did mine might have done it incorrectly, anybody have the 2 on bottom?

Where'd ya have it done? Pep Boys?

The plates on the bottom won't harm anything, but they're not doing you any good, either. Unless the plates are between the axle and the leaf, they're pretty much useless for lowering.

I called Hotchkis to ask them and they said it doesnt matter, that they are basicly spacers(blocks)and 2 on the bottom would be the same as 4 on top. I personally dont see how that could be right. I agree that it should be between the leaf and axle. Marks DQC has 2 in his and it sits how i wanted mine to sit, so who knows, maybe i'll move them to the top (4) and see what happens.
Also see this in instructions..
NOTE: QUAD CAB’s MUST
REMOVE THE EQUIVALENT OF ½”
PADS FOR PROPER OPERATION....
Is that 2 pads?
