My manual says that my truck ('99 RC) has an illuminated ignition switch.....but it doesn't light up! Any thoughts???? Is it an option???

It was a green light around the ignition. If you didn't get the light group as an option or in the slt+ group you won't have it. Do you have a light under the hood?

I asked that because that was part of the light group so I thought. strange. what kind of trim group do you have? sport, sport+, slt, or slt+?

It hasn't been working since i bought the truck brand new in '99! Does anyone in here have an ignition light, and if so, what trim option do u have?

I went to my local dealer and got the answer!!! It is only available WITH power windows/doorlocks!!

i don't have power door locks, or windows, and i have the ignition light around mine. i have a 98 sport club cab. and i know i don't have the lighting package, because i don't have a light in my ashtray or under my hood.

Turn your dome lights on, when they are on the ignition key light will come on if equipped and working. This light does not stay on when the headlights/parking lights are on. The light turns on when the dome lights are on, so you can see where to insert the key when entering the truck, notice the dome lights have a delay when you close the door and haven't started the truck. I hope this helps. I realize this post hasn't been addressed in a while. You may not even care anymore if you haven't already figured it out....
