Subject: K & N Air Filters IP: Logged
Message: I just got a 2002 Dakota CC SLT with the 4.7L V8 and was wondering if anyone knows or has had a K & N air filter for this engine and if it makes a difference in performance or gas mileage...

Message: I'd like one also. I think that k/n only makes a drop in filter. They have been having problems trying to make an intake system.

Message: I got this intake on ebay. Got 3 mpg increase and works fine. You could also make your own using the photos.

K&N only makes the drop in filter for the 4.7
a search of these boards resulted in the following vendors that sell similar solutions:
http://www.intenseperformance.com/
http://www.360airintakez.com/47.html
yes to the performance and MPH question. depending on which you choose, your results will vary

Message: I have the drop in K&N, haven't found any difference in gas mileage. Wouldn't know on the performance since I put it in with 300kms on the truck.
