Last month I purchase my first truck. It was a 2001 Dodge Dakota 4.7L regular cab, short box pickup. Boy, I'm really starting to fall in love with it. My question is- It came with the Dodge Motorsport Limited edition package- That is that it came with the Dodge Motorsport door decals, GoodYear Eagle #1 raised yellow letter tires, yes yellow, a Dodge motor trac bag that came with a windsheild decal, Commemorative Limited Edition Replica Dodge (Intrepid NASCAR model), and a bunch of other stuff- ok here's the question: In seeing that the motorsport packages was only included in the Intrepid, the Neon, and the Dodge Dakota (5000 each) did I buy something very unique or is this just clever marketing. From what I've read the Motorsport pakages were to bring attention to Dodge's NASCAR involvement. I haven't seen any pictures of them on this sight. Let me know if there are any of you with a Motorsport Limited edition Dakota. If anyone's intrested, I'm picking up my pictures tonight- I had them put on CD rom.

I bought my 2001 Dodge Motorsport Dakota two weeks ago. The dealership I work for still had a new one left over, and my G.M. sold it to me for 15,000. The sticker on it was over 21,000. I am very pleased with it. It is the Flame Red reg. cab, 4.7L, 5 speed, 3.92 posi rear. Also had leather, stereo wheel controls, and a ton of other stuff. I absolutely love the truck. I am taking it to the track tonight, so we will have to see what it runs.

I've been on the internet for weeks trying to find out the value of my neon motorsport and have not found anything, not even pictures. I am ready to sell and/or trade it in so I can buy a dakota. Does anyone know where I can find out what my car is worth? It is a 2001 Dodge Neon Motorsport (limited edition).

My present Dak is a black RC 2001 Motorsports Edition. I obtained the production number (1028 made) through www.dodge.com on "ask jeeves" for customer service. I believe that very few Neon Motorsports were built, and the production number of Intrepids was 1026. The Motorsports vehicles were dealer-order only, Dodge never made any for stock, hence the low numbers. The dealers only had about a 45 day ordering "window" in the Spring of 2001. I've only seen one Intrepid Motorsports, and no Neons. Car and Driver tested a silver Neon Motorsports in '01. "Collector Car" magazine may be a place to start, or E-bay.
