Message:
Does anybody know how the 4x4 shifter console and shifter knob come off of the transmission hump on a 2000 4x4 c.c. auto? I want to completely remove the seats and carpet to run wires for a stereo system, but im not sure how the console comes off.I dont see any screws anywhere. Any help would be appreciated.

Check out my shifter install page at
http://www.intense99dak.com/shifterknob.htm

I have a '99 4x2, but the center consoles should be similar enough so the pics and how-to will help.

Chuck you do have a great site. I check back ever so often to see what's your next mod, and to get ideas. I would like to send you some pics of my truck, so you can add it to your site if you don't mind.

Stew, when I installed my system I found it easier to run the wiring along the door sills. Instead of taking the console apart and the carpet. It's just a suggestion!!
