Message: How do auto dealers make their money. I just ordered a new Dak and only paid Invoice for it. In addition, I got all the holdback taken off, got the 2000 cash back, got 300 off because I own a small business. The only other fees I paid were 130 for title/tags, 585 for freight and 390 for advertising. I am sure there is dealer profit built into those fees as well, but it seems that dealers must also be making out somehow, maybe other insentives from the manufacturer. just a thought.

Message: I've sold cars and its really easy. Here are a couple of things. First if he orders a set amount of trucks at one time DC cuts the price down, thats why sometimes you see allot of the same trucks on a dealers lot with the same options. 2 If a dealer sells a certain amount of vehicals he gets a bonus. Last, the since your ordering a vehical a he doesnt have to floor plan the vehical which cost him. There are Many more ways. Check this site out below, its got allot of good info. http://www.autoinvoice.com

Message: "Invoice" is a stop-gap in the pricing structure for dealers. From the top down, there is window sticker (MSRP), invoice, actual dealer cost, and manufacturers cost. The public is not privey to what goes on below "invoice", but on heavily optioned vehicles, the markup is considerable. Don't shed any tears for the dealer.
