Message: Is it possible to program/rewire a 2000 4.7 Dak automatic transmission to start with the overdrive switch in the off position? I live in the mountains "uphill both ways to work" and have wondered if there is an easy way to do this.
Message: The way the computer is programed I don't think it can be done. You could try splicing the wires together and see if that will make it turn off on first start up. If it worked you could then install a rocker switch.
