hey lilpunisher, where do you live? i live in the most restricted state for smog (california) and with our laws there is no way in hell anyone would pass with a 340. just wondering what kinda laws do you have? i love cali, but hate the laws.

kotaon20's I live in Maine no smog test. We just get inspected for cats, and you can't get away with to loud of exhaust. Physically you can't tell the difference beteween the two. It looks just like a 5.2, or a 5.9. Is it legal probably not. Could anyone ever tell, probably not. We have other stupid laws like only change tire size by 2 sizes, Alloable tint is a joke, Not allowed to change suspension and exhaust, Have to have a front lic plate. These don't stop me because its onle the real power hungry cops that will bust you for them and if you go to court the judge usually throws out these little things out. (I'm known for no plate and to loud exhaust.)

your smog laws kick ass, but everything else sucks. what year 340 do you have? was converting it over to MPI easy? did everything fit ok?
i know the 340 is one of the best mopars built, but just wondering why you didnt go a little bigger? like 408 stroker or even a 440?

There was a few customizing not a direct bolt up. Why 340. Because its a 340. If you've had one you'd understand. 440 would be great but phsycal size is bigger and more modifications than what I want right now. As for the stroker I wouldn't go with a 408 (not 360 fan) I'd stroke out the 340. 340 has a bigger bore so if you give it a 4" stroke than you'll get like 416 or something around that depending on what you bore the cylinders to. But I should be in the11's and I can't really go faster without being real stree.table
