Message: hey guys, some really bad news. I hydroplaned my dak today and well the truck is totaled. The frame was bent at least in 3-4 areas, front end smashed and multiple under carriage breakages on the frame. Not including the body work damage adn such. ITs not a pretty site, but i have to admit that she held up in such a bad crash!!!! she did a full 360 on a 4 lane highway and finally came to rest on top of a middle median guardrails about 180 feet down from the intitial point of inpact. So i will have to buy a new truck now. But i myself have not been the most happiest person with the dak's so this may be my last posting depending on what the insurance does. I will most likely go to a full size truck, but i don't like the new rams, so i might go back to ford but also considering a GMC, but i am goign to shop around. Its been a fun experience with the dak and talking to all you get know alls of the daks. Hope you guys are all safe in the months to come. If anyone is interested i can send picts of the truck. take care all!!!! john gorsuch

Message: John, Sorry to hear about your loss. You didn't mentioned yourself so you must not have been injured. Says something for the Dak. At least go GM if you don't stick with Mopar. Would like to pics of your truck.

Message: thanks for asking how i am, i am ok in most part.Saddened by the loss of my truck but she and the push bar saved my life. THe air bags never deployed so luckily i only walked away with a bump on my head and a little bit of a whiplash injury and since i am a physical therapist assistant i can treat myself...some aren't so lucky. Well take care. john

Message: It's good to hear that your'e not hurt. sorry about your'e truck. After all it's still only a machine. At least youre in one piece! You know, I'm thinking along youre lines. My dakota has been with me since 95. its a V6 5spd x-tra cab. nice that Its paid for, but its been a problem child throughout its life. so I think when it finaly goes i will look in to some thing other than a Dodge product. By reading these post's, I dont know if I'd want a gen 3 anyway. Sad to say, but untill Honda builds a truck, the Toyota Tundra is new truck for me. Would LOVE a RAM, but WAY too many problems.

Message: John, I'm in Portland, OR. so too far to buy whole truck. If you end up buying it back from Ins. Company let me know. Myself or a friend of mine might be interested in some parts. Again sorry for the loss. Brush gaurd definately saved you, but thats why the airbags didn't deploy.

Message: What year and motor did you have? Any mods you could pull off and sell. If you don't pull them make sure the insurance company reimburses you for them.
