Hello all, Anybody else have this problem when the oil is drained from the oil pan it gets all over the skid plate, because dodge made the opening in the skidplate not line up with the drain plug? Truck is 01 cc 4x4 4.7 V8 auto, I had the oil changed last saturday and the service manager did it he said if I see oil in the driveway it's because of this, that's fine but even after I washed it all out I had oil on the driveway for 4 days!!.

I used to remove the skid plate when I changed oil ... not a problem anymore though, cuz I broke the cheap plastic skid plate the last time I high centered on a sand dune.

Best bet would be to buy a set of the steel skid plates that were for sale on the off road forums and have the drain hole cut big enuff to actually work!

Better yet, buy a fumoto drain plug with the nipple to add a drain hose...no hassle with the skid plate and makes changing oil much easier. It should be standard equipment these days.

I recently changed my oil(for the first time, the dealer had changed until now) My oil drain plug was easy to get to and there is no pan in the way, am I missing something? 01 QC 4.7 SLT 4x4
The filter was up under some plastic but thanks to Bill in NY trick, that was a breeze to change.
