Subject: Well.......somethings broken. IP: Logged
Message: I love my truck, but I hate it when sh*t breaks. This is for you mechanic guys out there. Trucks driving down road. Go to shift gear, something feels funny......shift again and it feels funnier...and worse and worse until there is no more pressure in the clutch. Clutch has zero pressure. Fluid is good and everything is good visually. But the clutch dont work. So.....I was really hoping that maybe you guys could tell me how to fix it.....but that probly wont happen. So my next prayer is that maybe you guys could tell me whats wrong. So that way when I go to my messed up dealer to fix it under warranty Ill know what to tell him. Thanks Guys.. And please help me.

Message: If the truck still drives, then it is the slave cylinder needs to be replaced thats all.

Message: Most likely the hydraulic assembly is bad or has came loose from the fork that the throwout bearing rides on. The slave cylinder and master cylinder are sold as an assembly. You have to replace it all if its bad.

Message: Is this a major issue? Like does the transmission need to be dropped to replace that whole assembly?

Message: Don't think tranny will have to be dropped, even if it does its not that big a deal. The symptons you describe most likely point to the hydraulic assembly. If you don't like your dealer take it to another. I work for a Dodge dealer and we work on them no matter where they were purchased. I would suggest going to a 5star dealer if their is one in your area. I just had a clutch put in my 01 rc 4x4 4.7 and it took about 4 hours. Mine had a chatter in it since day one.

Message: Turned out to be the whole clutch. Actually a piece of the clutch actually broke and was lodged between the pressure plate and something else. So had to put a new one in it. Just under 700 dollars total. Well hopefully this one will last a lot longer. The thing is dodge would have covered under warranty under 12000 miles. I had just past 12700. You live you learn. Wont bother taking any pictures of the old clutch (where it broke) unless someone wants one. Thanks for all the help everyone and at least im rollin again.
