Went to the drags tonight at the local speedway. Its wednsday nigh where you can run anything you want. Some of the more interesting things I say were a new mini-van(not sure about what kind) that ran a 16 something in the 1/4. Also saw a 4 door f-350 super duty 4x4 who ran in the high 17's. There were some awsome muscle cars out there and one mopar that was the loudest(and the best imho) but I couldnt tell what it was. I love it when a muscle car goes up againts one of those nip-rides and smokes em'. Tons os mustangs and newer camaros. For a first time there, it was great!

Firts time there, didnt want to run until I saw what it was like. The guys near the tree arent the nicest folks. They make gestures that I didnt figure out what they meant until awhile into the night. When the twirl they're hnads around, I guess that means do your burn out. The front wheel drive cars were kind of cool when the front ends goes side to side. the motorcycles werent all that great. There was one dakota but I forget what its time was. Also a ram with a 16 sec. 1/4.

That's actually a good approach. Do your homework before you go out and look like a moron. There are lots of articles in Hot Rod (past issues) on how drag racing works and what is what. There are track courtesies to learn. Like no burnouts past the Christmas tree, only light up the pre-stage beam until the other driver has lit his, etc. Read up on those, and you'll be miles ahead of the game, the first time you head down the track. But, go back soon. No matter what. You'll catch the bug like everyone else.

I already have caught the bug, I cant wait until next wednsday night! Those are some pretty interesting things that I didnt know about the drag strip. Thanks for the tips.
