Does anyone have a starter/alarm combo in there 2001 5 spd Dakota ? I've been looking around and there don't seem to be many out there. I live in Canada so i was wondering if any of the american stores sell them. Thanks !

Im from Canada too and haven't been able to find one either... I haven't tried the dealership yet though.

I live in calgary with a 2000 QC 4X4 4.7 Auto.
I've had a compustar starter/alarm/pager installed for over a year and has worked great. Got it to work with keyless entry as well. I got it at A&B sound and they did a great job with installation. I know it will work with manual trans costing a few for bucks. A&B has another similar system on sale for about 500 installed. Visions also sells starter/alarms.
The compustar cost me 700 bucks total but well worth it in my opinion. The beauty of the pager is that it will show you when your truck is running and you can check if your armed anytime with good range.

Hi!
I have a Commander 7000 made by Driven Technologies installed in my '01 Dakota QC (Auto Trans) This is a great alarm / remote start. I had one installed in every car that I've ever had. It is not a cheapo system though. I paid a total of $595 installed (from an excellent alarm shop in Illinois) The quality is great and I have never had a problem in 5 years! Here is the website...

Thanks for your replys, I'm gonna go check out A@B Sound and hopefully i can get one for around $500 cause my parents are buying me one for christmas !!
