Subject: Need some help with sideview mirrors! IP: Logged
Message: Hey guys, I need some help. A dump truck took out a part of my driver's side sideview mirror. The mirror is totally gone and a piece of the side case broke off too, but the rest of the case is still there. Should I go to a professional and get it fixed or should I go to a junk yard and just get the mirror and do the wiring myself. Is it hard to do? Any help would be appreciated.

I would go to the junk yard and get a new mirror.
You should be able to install it yourself with just a couple hand tools. The inner door panel comes off after removing about 5-6 screws (phillips & torx). Once the screws are removed, lift up on the door panel about an inch. This will desengage the L-shaped brackets. Gently pull the top of the panel out to disengage the door handle clip. You can now remove the door panel enough so you can unclip the electric mirror connector.
With the door panel off, look for 1 or 2 screws that hold the mirror in place. Remove these screws and replace your mirror.
Hope this helps a little,
Chuck Robbins
