All

I just got a 2001 Quad cab and want to remove that damn air bag warning sticker from the drivers sun visor.

Anyone done this - I tried pulling it put they used some type of monster adhesive to attach it to the cloth visor cover - I am afraid if I pull too hard to remove it, I will either tear the cloth or stretch it and make it look worse than having the sticker on there. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Stacy

I pulled the stickers off of both sides. I was also afraid that it would rip the cloth, but I went VERY slow (and had previously cranked the heat, so it was a little more pliable) and it came off without any rips...

Thanks for the tip. I also found this on a PT Cruiser list:

"Take down the visor and put a wet washcloth over the sticker. Take an iron set on medium and heat the wash the washcloth (placed over the sticker) until it starts to steam. Slowly peel off the sticker. Usually the sticky stuff will come off with the sticker.

If not, repeat the wet wash cloth/iron procedure. A couple of tries should remove all residue.

NOTE: Never place the iron directly on the sticker!"

It sounds like this will work. I haven't tried this yet, but plan to do so upon returning home this evening. Of course, all disclaimers apply, no warranty is either expressed or implied, and you mileage may vary!

Just curious, did you have two warning stickers per sun visor, one on top of another? It was a surprise to me because both had the exact same information. Can't figure it out.

I have used this little trick on the last 3 new vehicles I have owned and never had any problem with the removal of the stickers.. Though you worry about damage to the visor there is really little to no risk as long as you follow the directions as below.
Anyway, remove the visor and place an evenly wet (not dripping)washcloth over the sticker. Take an iron set on medium and heat the washcloth that is placed over the sticker until it begins to steam. Heat the complete wash cloth area over the sticker! Now, very slowly (Slowly!) peel off the sticker. Right away, IF any adhesive residue remains gently (gently!) rub it off with the hot, wet wash cloth. Use caution with the rubbing as to not damage the material. I then dry with a hair dryer set at low and held at a distance. After dry, wipe the visor with a dry soft cloth to get the texture all going one way. NOTE: Never place the iron directly on the sticker and be sure the complete sticker is evenly heated/steamed prior to the SLOW removal of the sticker.

DJ, I noticed on my '01 QC that indeed there was a sticker under each of the visor's stickers. The sticker on the bottom was a bit smaller and my guess is that this smaller sticker did not meet the dictated size of sticker size dictated by the Feds to the manufacturer SOooooo, Dodge just stuck a bigger one over the smaller one. Ahhh, no matter they both steamed off together, no fuss, no muss.. Bill in NY
