I currently own a 01 RC Dakota 3.9 4x4 SLT. I've only had it for 4.5 months now and have a little over 2500 miles on it. I'm 20 years old and will be getting married soon and probably have a kid a year or two down the road.
What I'm thinking about doing is trading in my Dak on a 00 or 99 RAM 1500 extended cab. We all know I aint fitting me, my wife, and a kid in the Dakota -- not with a center console and a reg cab anyway.
So, if you could, give me some reasons not to do this.

No way dude, you have to get a bigger truck, i would go with some type of quad cab, we had our daughter 6 months after i got my truck and the car seat barely fits in the club cab, its a pain in the a$$ to move the car seat in and out, you'll need something bigger, I would definitly go with something with 4 doors. but thats only my opinion.

Why not go with the dakota QC? If you want to keep the same payments, roughly. RAM will have the same engine and more weight to pull.

thats would i say..go with the dak quad cab. the 99 ram has those awkward swing out doors while the dak has carlike doors

Our quad cab 4x4 is our family "car." Don't get the ram. Dakota is lower and easier to get into. Wife may not like getting in and out of big ram.

Wife will probably like auto tran.

Thanks for the advice. I'm going to stick with mine for now. I got a while to decide yet anyway.
Don't get me wrong...I love my Dakota. I swear, nothing beats their pissed off look -- something about low to the ground, wide, big tires, just makes them look mad (which is why I love their big brother (the Ram) too).
