Subject: Tranny problem IP: Logged
Message: OK, I changed the tranny fluid/filter on our '00 4.7L/Auto CC, right at 30kmi. Now, at 32kmi the transmission is slipping & getting worse.
I'm a little confused w/how you're supposed to check the fluid in this truck, too.
If I follow the owners manual & let the truck get up to operating temp, then put it in each gear(long enough for it to engage), then check the fluid. It's right betweenthe full "Hot" markings. If I drive it till it starts slipping, then check it. The fluid is *foamy*, and above the "Hot" markings.
It's still under warranty, so I'll be calling the dealer Monday. I just wanted to get some input/advice first.
Thanks!
Pete

Message: Actually, the owner's manual said to use ATF+3, so that's what I put in it. This is for a 2000/4.7L.
Thanks,
Pete
