What years were you in? I'm going on my eighth year. Just got orders to school at the stumps for 8 months. Report in April, so I get to spend all summer there;) And I barely made it up in time for the race after a wonderful birthday celebration last night;)

April 21, 1981-April 21, 1985
Just was watching Marine Corps Boot Camp on the Discovery Channel. Talk about nostalgia, the only people who realize what it was all about is other Jarheads. There are certain smells, jasmine, always reminds of MCRD San Diego. Spent sis weeks at a logistics depot in the stumps, loading C-rats ontotruck and off of trucks. Played a milliion games of spades scopion fights whew! we had us a ball!
I had a good enlistment though. Never got promoted beyond Lance Corp, didn't matter. But got to go on two Wespacs. And spent the rest of the time in So.Cal.
Eight years in! This past April would have been 20! Seems like a life time ago. The best thing that the dumbas$ 17 year old kid ever did!
